I have enjoyed working in the real estate business for almost 27 years, 17 years ago, I purchased the company from my long time mentor and friend Linda Andersen. I purchase the company with my brother Hazen Bye and I took over the title of Responsible Broker for Dakota Realty & Property Management. Our company is truly family owned and operated as my son Parker Erickson and Hazen’s daughter Jana Bye join the sales force in 2015.

I graduated with a Business Management degree from the University of South Dakota and then went on to get my real estate license soon after that. I took the Real Estate class from Dr. Horner at USD and was intrigued with Real Estate from that day on.

I chose this business because it allows me to do what I like everyday. I co-own Dakota Realty with my brother Hazen, and the two of us make a great team. I work with friends and family everyday. Together we work hard to find the right home for the right person or family.

Along with selling real estate, we also property manage for numerous owners with over 100 rental units. Property Managing allows me to keep in touch and meet new people on a consistent basis. Our sister Nadeen Peterson is the Office manager and handles the day to day operations of our property management. It is very interesting property managing in an university town, some days we feel as we have 100 children. But we love working with the students and try hard to treat them as we would hope others would treat our children.

Vermillion is my home town I moved to Gayville in 1984 when I married my high school sweet heart Mark Erickson, we have 3 children, and 2 grandsons!
